New S:FLEX system solutions for The Smarter E 2024
S:FLEX presents the INmount in-roof system and Clip roof hooks.
S:FLEX is presenting its new INmount in-roof system at Intersolar 2024. It allows solar modules to be aesthetically integrated into the roof surface. Thanks to the variable design and compatibility with all common framed and unframed modules and roof shapes, upright and transverse mounting is possible on almost all pitched roofs with a tile or concrete roof covering.
The use of corrugated sheet metal as a base for the substructure and the PV generator is a key advantage over systems with plastic sheets. With a thickness of 0.8 mm, it meets the criteria for hard roofing. This prevents the spread of fire on the roof and fire transmission from the roof to the building in accordance with DIN 4102-7, and the S:FLEX INmount is certified in accordance with DIN EN 13501-5:2010-02. In addition, the corrugated sheeting ensures that the roof cannot penetrate during installation. Another plus point is its watertightness: damage to the roof, e.g. due to secondary condensation on the back of the modules, is prevented. In general, water drainage is possible across the entire width of the solar module field.
In terms of temperature resistance, the INmount offers a further advantage over plastic-based systems, as all load-bearing and sealing components are made of weather-resistant aluminum: The lower expansion at high temperatures, ensures long-term secure anchoring to the roof.
Three different adapters provide a high degree of flexibility when mounting the PV modules, meaning that additional roof battens are largely unnecessary during installation. They ensure direct force transmission and also make the system solution suitable for high loads in snowy regions.
S:FLEX uses tried-and-tested click technology with its pre-assembled middle and end brackets to attach the modules.
A sealing tape is fitted to create a watertight lower edge of the INmount with an overlap to the corrugated sheet. The side and top ends are formed by connection plates, which are firmly screwed in place using sheet metal screws. They are available in three colors: bright aluminum, red and black.
S:FLEX roof hook clip
S:FLEX completes its roof hook portfolio with the new Clip roof hook. It has been specially developed for the Netherlands and Scandinavia for use on pitched roofs with roof tiles and concrete roof tiles, where connection to rafters is not possible. As a screwless version, it is particularly quick to install. Made entirely of aluminum, the hook-in roof hook can be flexibly adjusted to the thickness of the roof battens and tiles from 49.7 mm to 59 mm. During development, attention was paid to an installation-friendly screw connection on the suspension bracket on the upper side of the leg. The ribbing on the inside ensures a good grip on the roof batten and thus protection against slipping.
The 70 mm wide clip made of weather-resistant and ozone-resistant EPDM, which is included in the scope of delivery, ensures optimum pressure distribution with its wide contact surface on the underside of the suspension bracket and thus prevents tile cracking or breakage as well as possible rattling under high wind loads.
The rail mounting with hammerhead screw offers height compensation of up to 21 mm with a slotted hole for uneven roof surfaces.
